They wanted to have the forum in the community and not downtown. One point for them, although the community woulda driven to Salem for this meeting.

Remeber, Kroeker served under Daryl Gates in LA, and that's how he operates.
Maybe about 60 cops total, I'm told. With vests and weapons.

Whoever told you this either was lying through their teeth or was lied to.
The Albina Ministerial Alliance (the pastors) had absolutely no part or say in the agenda, venue, or anything. No way would they have authorized this show of force in a House of God.

Too true.

He gave a pretty good assessment.

They're doing what they were told, but I don't think they all appoved of the show of force.

He can't help what he looks like. This isn't fair.

Excellent picture in yesterday's paper that showed that this isn't a black issue. all sorts of folks across the spectrum are outraged at what happened. The diversity was mirrored in the march a few weeks ago.

Only the vote next November will indicate whether she's been forgiven.
remember, if Vera goes then Kroeker goes too.

I shall look forward to that.

I don't know about dogs, but they did have Glocks, cuffs, tear gas canisters. There may have been other weapons but those I can swear to.

They sure acted like it.

They were ministers and politicians; all with 20+ years of constant and tireless service to the community.

I smell some bias, too, gatt.

Yes, but "doing their best to look as intimidating as they could" suggests that their weapons were drawn and actually pointed at somebody.

Indeed. I hate misinformation.

ugh, this is the ugliest post I have ever seen from you. You are far too intelligent to actually believe this shit. Please don't ever refer to Kendra as a crackhead again. She was a person and what the police did to her was wrong and the way they are behaving now to try to use show of force to get away with it is wrong.

The (white and armed) police knew who she (black and unarmed) was and should have let her drive away and then gone and gotten her later, per the supreme court ruling dictating so. At the very least, tazing her should have been sufficient, fatally shooting her was unnecessary. They, of course, know all this or they wouldn't be showing so much force now to intimidate everyone.

Come on, man. I know you from this board. You're not an idiot and you're not a fool. You know that a massive police prescence can intimidate people.
They don't have to pull their gats. Just two cops in a room can intimidate even innocent people. Howzabout sixty in one room, all armed? It was overkill, typical of Daryl Gates I mean Kroeker. Two would have been plenty.

By watching far too many cops in action.

Black cops with black subjects; white cops with white subjects; black cops with white subjects, and white cops with black subjects.

Its all and always about power and submission. If the subject does not immediately and abjectly submit, the subject's life is always at risk.

Ever watch up close, a cop "taking down" a subject in a street situation?

The cop is usually literally foaming at the mouth, screaming obscenities and out of control with rage.

Watch one of those silly "real cop" shows and see what the bleep in the audio. Watch what happens.

And it is typical of the Portland cops.
