a) appreciated very much Da Parrot-chick comments. Also the info about
pastors actually not hiring any security at that church. Also I need
to clarify my Shrunk comment for her. She said it wasn't fair. Note I
simply did what you do when you say " Honey I met this new guy today
and he looks like that actor on TV.. They are even of the same age."
Resemblance to anyone or lack thereof could not possibly have any
bearing on how decent one is or how competent public servants are.
Same with age. Nothing whatsoever. So I maintain my remark was
neutral.
b) DA Shrunk seems to enjoy a pretty decent reputation in this town
as far as I can tell. If you recall he was the only one who came with
his integrity not only intact but enhanced in that sorry "garbage,
tampons, semen, pigs, etc." affair of theirs reported some time ago by
WW. To my surprise his demeanor at the forum was another thing
altogether: shrill, unyielding and hostile. The only way I can
rationalize it w/o losing faith in him is this. The guy did what he
was supposed to do and fairly and squarely concluded he could not
under existing laws prosecute here. And now he was simply reacting to
having his integrity publicly questioned. Maybe. Unfortunately nobody
asked him if he thinks laws need to be changed so he can prosecute
these cases in the future.
c) I twice read the post by gatt because on the first reading I had a
sinking feeling the post was written by somebody connected with this
appallingly Orwellian display of force in that black church. Or by
somebody still trying to rationalize it to himself or to his
supervisors. If that's the case he is still not getting it, unlikely
he ever will, so maybe we should ask Bush to do us a favor and ship
him off to Iraq or Kabul or somewhere. On grounds we are yearning to
be free too.

Three things:
* I'm sorry you won't be posting the next installment--I was looking forward
to getting your take.
* My reaction to your comments on Mike Schrunk had more to do with focusing
on his appearance than his performance. Seems like it was just a
misunderstanding on both our parts. I'm glad you cleared it up for me, and
thanks.
