builds large, popular websites using data warehousing and web mining
techniques. One such site is NationMaster.com
This is an initial project leading to full time work, if successful. The
job will involve taking data from the web, converting it (adding value) and
placing it into a database for viewing on websites.
Required skills:
* Advanced Perl
* Competence with regular expressions and Perl data structures.
* Text processing experience
* HTML (both writing and parsing)
* Good communication skills in English.
Desired skills:
Highly desirable skills:
* Experience developing web agents (bots)
* Ability to improvise and use initiative to deal with different data
formats.
* Knowledge of statistics
* PHP
