5 year old Liquidity Services, Inc., located on K Street NW, provides
online surplus asset disposition marketplaces via a public auction format
through four subsidiaries: Liquidation.com, a b2b marketplace for private
buyers and sellers; GovLiquidation.com, Department of Defense US military
surplus; UKSurplus.com, Ministry of Defense military surplus;
GoWholesale.com, a b2b wholesale PPC search portal.
Liquidity Services built its operations from the ground up, utilizing open
source tools and technologies. Liquidity Services' long-standing,
profitable startup-like environment provides an opportunity to work closely
with a medium-sized team of professionals dedicated to the construction and
maintenance of its expanding infrastructure.
Applicant will be working independently or as part of a team on various
special projects, and take care of all aspects of the software development
life cycle from specification gathering and implementation to quality
assurance, documentation, and maintenance.
Liquidity Services, Inc., requires the candidate to be a United States
Citizen or Resident Alien, with residency in the Washington DC, Virginia,
or Maryland area. Unfortunately no relocation assistance is offered.

Core experience MUST include Object Oriented Perl, mySQL, mod_perl, Apache.
Performance Requirements:
High concentration is placed on software quality, scalability, memory
utilization, algorithm speed, efficient database utilization, caching
methodologies, and structured application development skills.
Candidate will interact directly with remote offices, other departments, as
well as third-parties for numerous integration projects, as such, applicant
must show strong project managerial, written and oral communication skills.
Additionally, extensive experience with the LAMP model, including mod_perl,
and a good understanding of efficient database utilization and scalability
techniques.
Workload will include the continuing design, maintenance, and
implementation of back-office and front-end support systems, third-party
integrations, legacy system integration, as well as refactoring,
maintenance, and documentation on an on-going basis.
