Description:
The job scope for this Software Design Engineer, level 3 position includes
application/system performance, threading issues, bottleneck
identification, writing small footprint and less intrusive code for
critical code testing, tackle system/application intermitted failures etc.
Job Duties also include:
Analyzes, designs and develops overall test plans, performs repeatable
testing procedures and processes.
Verifies installation instructions, APIs, triggers, stored procedures,
referential integrity, hardware product or system specifications.
Interprets and modifies code as required including batch files, make files,
Perl scripts, queries, stored procedures and/or triggers.
Identifies and defines project team quality and risk metrics.
Provides assistance to other testers.
Application/System/Inter-System level issues will be the major focus for
this assignment.
Required skills:
This position requires Enterprise level configuration skills. Specific
skills and keywords required for this position include:
PERL
UNIX installation, trouble shooting and administration, UNIX shell
programming
Windows Server installation and administration, cmd shell programming.
Nice to have skills: SQL Server database administration, Windows task
scheduler, UNIX cron job scheduler.
Desired skills:
General Requirements include:
4 plus years software testing experience.
2 plus years in Windows client/server environment required.
4 years development and/or database administration experience using a
Microsoft product required.
Must have general knowledge of software quality assurance practices.
Must have the ability to read and write at least one programming language
such as C/C++, VB, SQL, etc. DB2 database programming experience may be
required.
Experience with Visual Basic, MFC, OLE, Internet tools, NT and compiler
preprocessor preferred.
Knowledge of personal computer hardware may be required.
Must have solid understanding of software development cycle.
Demonstrated project management ability required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required and some industry experience
preferred.
