Subject: What to use on cabinets

I have 30 year old cherry cabinets in my kitchen. I'm redoing the kitchen but keeping these cabinets. Does anyone have advice on what to use to make them look really good? I'm thinking of Howard's Restorer.

I'm not familiar with that product, but our oak cabinets were the same age, and refinishing only made them look like mid-1970s cabinets that had been refinished. Total stripping (again) and white glossy paint worked wonders.

No, white paint on flat-paneled cabinet doors ;)

When we refinished the oak cabinets, they looked quite passe with all of the new, stainless-steel appliances. White was right for the job.

Paint, like any other finish, can always come off ;)
