Hello all. I'm trying to find out if anyone knows of a
well-trafficked site for listing antique or collectible items. My
mother had an antique shop but had to sell it when she moved and is
mostly retired now. She still dabbles, but doesn't move the amount of
items necessary to pay rent or deal with the other hassles of owning a
shop.
eBay seems such a flea-market these days, that it's unlikely to
attract the right buyers or demand a fair price for the quality items
she hunts. I searched the rec.antiques group but didn't find much.
If anyone has any links for niche online auctions that dealers or
collectors frequent, I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

eBay *is* the best place, as that's where the buyers are,
and where the collectors look first.
Yes, it's a flea market....but compare it to your local
newspaper listings with merchandise in all sorts of
categories, and you'll find a closer comparison.
Maybe the problem is that your mother's items aren't
quite worth what you both assume they are?
